The Innichen Ski Cross World Cup concluded with a fifth place for Quebecer Hannah Schmidt, her second of the 2024-2025 season.

Schmidt had been eliminated in the quarter-finals the day before and was ranked 11e on the occasion of the first stage contested at this Italian station. Returning to the track on Saturday, she reached the semi-finals and took third place in her heat won by future gold medalist Daniela Maier of Germany.
Maier fled from the start of the race, closely followed by the Italian Jole Galli. Hannah Schmidt and her compatriot Marielle Thompson, leader in the general classification at the start of the day, struggled to maintain the pace. The gap only increased during the race and the two Canadians finally headed to the small final.
Schmidt then got the better of Thompson and Courtney Hoffos. The Arosa World Cup bronze medalist also finished fifth in Val Thorens at the beginning of December.
Daniela Maier beat Jole Galli in the grand final to win a second gold medal in two days. Maier thus takes the lead in the general classification of the World Cup. Frenchwoman Marielle Berger Sabbatel earned the bronze medal, also for a second day in a row.
Jared Schmidt, ranked 10e Friday, did not reach the men's eliminatory table on Saturday, he who signed 39e qualifying time. Zachary Reynolds, for his part, obtained 44e et 49e places in Innichen.
Canadian Reece Howden won gold ahead of Swiss Alex Fiva and Italian Simone Deromedis.
The next Ski Cross World Cup is scheduled for January 14-17 in Reiteralm, Austria.
