Embroiled in all kinds of rumors, Ottawa Senators captain Brady Tkachuk responds by leaving his guts on the ice. The tough forward finished the game against the Flames with a pretty bruised face on Thursday night in Calgary.

Tkachuk received Mikael Backlund's stick in the face in the second period, losing a tooth and a little blood. He had to retreat to the locker room to have nine stitches put in.

War wound for Brady Tkachuk –

A war injury that did not slow down the youngest of the Tkachuk brothers, as he stood up in overtime to give the Senators victory.

Tkachuk plays hero in overtime –

Tkachuk expressed his surprise in an interview with TSN when he was able to take a look at his face, which made for a rather comical moment of television.

“Oh wow, I have an X-ray face,” said the somewhat disfigured young athlete.

It was a fifth straight victory for the Senators, who have shrugged off distractions since rumors linked their captain to the New York Rangers.
