Le Grand Bornand – Lou Jeanmonnot: “I screwed up two races in one”

Only thirty-fifth in the sprint with three errors in the standing shot, Lou Jeanmonnot loses big in the fight for the big globe.

A sprint that hurts for Lou Jeanmonnot

The Grand Bornand stage begins with great disillusionment for Lou Jeanmonnot. Arriving in Haute-Savoie as world number two, the Frenchwoman inevitably had great ambitions on the sprint of the day. If the first part of the race was perfect, the second proved more difficult.

As on the sprint of Kontiolahti or on the relay feminine ofHochfilzen, Lou Jeanmonnot cracked on his shot standing. At 7/7, she ultimately failed to clear her last three targets. A new hitch which is very expensive at the finish: 35th at 1 minute 28 seconds behind Justine Braisaz-Bouchetbig winner of the day. But also in the general classification, now relegated to 98 points behind Franziska Preuss (second today), more than a victory in advance. And the gap risks widening even further tomorrow on the occasion of the pursuit.

After the race, Lou Jeanmonnot was disappointed by her performance: “In sensation, it feels a bit like the same thing it did to me Hochfilzen on the relayI can't understandshe admits on the microphone of the Équipe channel. However, I am well behind the rifle, I have no tremors, I am well poised and there is something which means that… Usually, I manage to concentrate as soon as I take one out, and there I am remained in the fact of wanting to chain them. I don't know why I wanted to do that, it annoys me. I got stuck in something I shouldn't do when I have a habit of getting out when it doesn't work.

I had a hard time relaxing today, I was very stressed, as I think I rarely have been. However, I wanted to ensure that it would benefit me for the future, that I could learn from it. This is not the case today, I'm sorry, I messed up two races in one, there you go, annoyed. »

Despite the disappointment, Lou Jeamonnot is happy for her teammate and friend Justine Braisaz-Bouchet : “I'm very proud, I'm very happy for her because she's been chasing it since the start of the season and she deserves it, it'll do her good. It'll put her in a good mood, I'm extremely happy for that. »
