Chancel Mbemba could be close to leaving Marseille this winter.
Chancel Mbemba is no longer the main man Marseille Olympic. Until six months ago, the Congolese international seemed to be an indisputable member of OM's starting lineup. Today, he is just a voice on the sidelines.
Although he did not play with the team Roberto DeZerbi since his break with the club, he has represented his national team. He participated in the recent defeat of the Republic of Congo against Guinea and spoke to the press after the match. Of course, his situation at Marseille was at the top of the list of concerns.
“I have a contract with Marseille. I hope (to leave OM) in January, whenever God wants. But when God doesn't decide… it's humans. Humans are complicated, everyone looks out for their own interests. But the most important thing is to do our job to satisfy everyone.”
The situation of Chancel Mbemba to lMarseille Olympic continues to attract attention, reports of RMC Sport and of The Team revealing that the Stade Rennais had approached the defender. Despite the interest of Rennes, the player would have rejected their proposal of 2 million euros. While Mbemba trains with the first team, reports indicate he is being left out of critical tactical preparations. This effectively sidelined the player, who has yet to log any minutes this season under Roberto De Zerbi.
However, despite Stade Rennes' efforts to secure Mbemba for 2 million euros, the player's refusal suggests he could be eyeing other opportunities. It remains to be seen which clubs could come forward to put an end to his Marseille exile.
