Injured in the knee, Mbaye Ndiaye left during the match at Partizan Belgrade. ASVEL must wait until his return to France in order to determine the total severity of the injury.
For the moment, Mbaye Ndiaye's 2024-2025 season is unfolding on a dotted line. The power forward suffered a knee injury during ASVEL's victory against Partizan Belgrade, the Euroleague's first away victory of the season, on Tuesday 18 December.
Fear of cruciate ligaments
According to Le Progrès, the first information on Mbaye Ndiaye (2.04 m, 25 years old) is however not very reassuring. According to Pierric Poupet in the local newspaper, Villeurbanne will have to wait for his return to France to know the precise duration of Mbaye Ndiaye's unavailability, being still traveling this Friday, December 20 at Zalgiris Kaunas. “It would be a huge blow if he had to be absent for several months, as Mbaye is so important to us, as he offers us multiple options between positions 4 and 5,” explains the technician.
ASVEL fears that its Senegalese interior will injure its cruciate ligaments. Currently in great shape, the Rhone team, which did not escape injuries during this first part of the season, is clearly afraid of that.
