We announced a new big crowd to come to the Geoffroy-Guichard stadium, earlier in the week on the occasion of the reception of Olympique de Marseille in the 32nd finals of the Coupe de France.
After welcoming the Marseille team two weeks ago in a sold-out stadium (35,350 spectators), AS Saint-Étienne once again sees its stadium full for this big poster. Yesterday, the Forez club announced that the meeting would be played behind closed doors for the tenth time in 2024. More than 35,000 spectators are expected in the Chaudron for the entry of the two teams into the prestigious Coupe de France.
This is the third match of this season which will take place in a full stadium and it is also the twelfth match of the year which exceeds the symbolic mark of 30,000 spectators. Never in its history has AS Saint-Étienne attracted so many people, so regularly, to its stands.
It’s a record year for the Forez club in Geoffroy-Guichard. Unfortunately, we can only regret once again the absence of Olympique de Marseille supporters, banned from traveling as for the Ligue 1 match by the Prefect of the Loire as well as by the Minister of the Interior.
