Canadian defenseman Jayden Struble tends to play hard and find himself in the middle of scrums and yet he is not the most experienced when it comes to pugilism on skates.
This is why he was seen “throwing down the gloves” in front of his teammate Arber Xhekaj during training on Thursday. Xhekaj, for his part, really doesn’t lack experience in this area and it’s a bit to give his teammate some tips that he engages in this kind of tussle with him.

“When he’s there, I tell him he’s strong but… (laughs) no, I’m joking,” Xhekaj told Renaud Lavoie after training. He’s a strong guy, I just want to give him some confidence by bickering with him. He plays hard, so he might have to throw in the gloves.”
“I played in university, I never played in junior, so my first fight was last year in Laval,” explained Struble. I’ve fought three times, I don’t have much experience. So it’s good to bicker, work on balance, to become more comfortable and confident.”
Whether these lessons bear fruit or not, they demonstrate that there is good camaraderie within the group of Habs players.
