Bugnenets-Savagnières reinvents itself in “four seasons” mode

Winters without or almost no snow, and ski resorts that must reinvent themselves. In Bugnenets-Savagnières, a think tank has been at work for almost two years. It includes the municipalities of Val-de-Ruz and St-Imier, as well as Parc Chasseral. Recently, other partners were invited to share their vision for a “four seasons” future in the resort.

“Coming together is a start, staying together is progress, working together is success. » It is no coincidence that the steering group chose a quote from Henry Ford to conclude its press release issued recently. It is with all regional stakeholders that solutions will be found to animate the Bugnenets-Savagnières resort throughout the year. Smallholdings, restaurants, companies active in winter sports, but also economic and tourist stakeholders were invited to share their vision. Jean-Marie Hommel, the president of the board of directors of the station, was there. For him, all participants are convinced that the solution lies in gentle and local tourism.

This first extended meeting at Maison Chasseral gave birth to many ideas. Firstly in events with local markets or concerts, in accommodation with unusual nights and reception areas for campers, in farms with gourmet workshops or eco-hikes. And then sport of course, winter sport with skiing which must keep an important place, mountain biking as well. Finally, more “fun” activities, ziplining, summer tobogganing, tree climbing, tubing on the track or even scootering. We will have to sort things out to give the right impulses, notes Jean-Marie Homme, who is campaigning for the creation of sub-working groups in order to gain efficiency.

The road promises to be long and exciting according to the steering committee. In the meantime, all hopes are focused on this winter of 2024-2025. The snow has made a beautiful and promising first incursion. Everyone wants more. /oza
