Mikhailo Mudryk’s positive test is now confirmed, and the player is awaiting the results of the B sample.

But preventive measures were taken against him, and he has not played with Chelsea for several weeks. The London club decided to support him, the Ukrainian international having assured that he had not taken any drugs or doping products of his own free will. The Telegraph makes some revelations this Tuesday, and affirms that the drug found in its control is melodium, well known among athletes to improve physical recovery and endurance. This drug, designed in Latvian laboratories for the USSR in the 1970s, treats heart disease. These are other advantages which were then detected by athletes, mainly in the former USSR at the start.

It has been banned by the World Anti-Doping Agency for almost 10 years, and tennis player Maria Sharapova was notably caught using this product. The English press claims that Chelsea are completely innocent in this affair, since the player would have been tested with this banned substance during international matches. The Blues winger risks up to 4 years of suspension from all competition, which can be reduced to two if he manages to prove that the catch was made involuntarily. Chelsea recently applied the precautionary measure, even prohibiting its Ukrainian player from accessing its training center and sessions to comply with the regulations in this area.
