Imperial since September, the ANMTT, undisputed leader until then, has finally fallen. Demoted to fourth place, the Lebrun brothers’ team leaves the throne to Jura-Morez and allows the pursuers to once again believe in supreme consecration. The championship is more than ever relaunched!
Undefeated since the start of the season, the Nîmes-Montpellier Alliance experienced its first defeat of the season. Without the Lebrun brothers, once again preserved after a tiring 2024, the ANMTT was no match for Angers. Three matches, three defeats, no sets won, the team fell from a height but all the credit goes to the Angevins. The collective led by Joao Geraldo, responsible for 57% of his team’s victories this season, climbed to the second step of the podium, passing in front of the Occitans at the same time. The 2022 champion has not said his last word.
It was enough for Jura-Morez to climb to first place in the ranking and thanks to two victories against La Romagne (3-0) and Roanne (3-2, despite an excellent Florian Bourrassaud), Aruna Quadri and his band won their seventh victory of the season, no one is doing better, for the moment.
Angers, Jura-Morez… and Cergy make up the new podium in mid-December since the Ile-de-France residents also won their last two meetings. The reigning champions played against Angers (3-1) then against Rouen (3-1), largely thanks to Marcos Freitas and his 4/4 against Joao Geraldo, Hampus Nordberg, Alexandre Cassin and Robert Gardos. The Portuguese has only lost once in fifteen matches this season and confirms his status as the best performer in the championship.
If a quartet seems to be emerging at the top of the table, Thorigné is trying to hold on to the lead and can still believe in his chances after his convincing success against the Breton neighbors of Hennebont (3-0). Led by Jules Rolland and his prestigious victory against Lim Jonghoon, medalist at the last Paris Olympics, the Thorefoléens seem determined to play the role of spoilsport this year.
