Luckily, an ambulance was nearby, returning from an intervention. Emergency doctors noted significant injuries with suspicion of violent head trauma.

Three days later

Three days later, the victim left intensive care and was able to testify before the police. He says he was in a café on rue de Baume. While he went out to smoke a cigarette, he was violently attacked with a hammer to the head.

The police questioned the people at the cafe into which the two men, who pulled the victim onto the sidewalk, returned. This is the premises of the RAAL football club where no one has seen or heard anything.

Finally, a man is arrested. His brother had covered for him by texting him to find out how his little family evening was going. He denies the facts, before confessing, stating that he hit the victim because she refused to leave, while she insisted on entering his bar.

Banned from stadium

An 18-month prison sentence is requested against the defendant, who received a four-year suspended prison sentence for attempted murder in the Namur region. However, the public prosecutor is not opposed to an extension of the probationary suspension.

The defendant’s lawyer puts the victim on trial, stating that he is a notorious alcoholic who becomes unmanageable and violent when he drinks. Moreover, it is forbidden to attend football stadiums. That day, he allegedly tried to force his way into the café to fight rival supporters. A preferential measure is requested.

Judgment mid-January.
