Onana finds himself in trouble with Manchester United, Amad Diallo blazes

This Saturday, Cameroonian goalkeeper André Onana saw his old demons catch up with Manchester United, while his Ivorian teammate Amad Diallo confirmed his new status as offensive leader.

Second defeat in a row for the Manchester United by Ruben Amorim. Beaten 2-0 by Arsenal in the middle of the week, the Red Devils lost again, this time on their lawn, with a score of 2-3 against Nottingham Forest, on behalf of the 15th day of Premier League. André Onana particularly weighed down his teammates, with an overall indigestible performance worthy of these chaotic beginnings of last season.

Onana’s blunder

If he could do absolutely nothing to open the score from the 2nd minute of play, glued to his line in front of a header at the near post from Nikola Milenković, following a corner kicked from the right, the Indomitable Lion (42 caps) is on the other hand greatly at fault on the second goal of the Tricky Trees.

Already saved by his crossbar which repelled to his left another dangerous helmet shot, signed Jota Silva (27th), the native of Nkol Ngok was completely holed on a full-axis strike, from the edge of the area, surprised by the ball which he sped just to the left after the restart (47th). He was still unhappy on the last opponent’s goal in the 54th, against a backdrop of incomprehension with his defenders trying to protect the goal with a lobbed header.

Amad Diallo’s caviars

More sparkling, Amad Diallo delivered the decisive pass seven minutes later for the goal of honor scored by Bruno Fernandes (61st). International Ivorian (4 selections, 1 goal) first stared at the red and white defense on the right after a crazy run, as part of a supersonic counterattack.

It was his third effort in as many matches, bringing his tally to 6 assists this season (1 goal) in 13 appearances in the Premier League. A total that the native of Abidjan had never reached since his signing in 2021 with the label of great football hope, beautifully repaying the confidence of his coaches this season.
