Hall of Famer Randy Moss has stepped away from his role as an analyst at ESPN indefinitely to focus on health issues, the network announced Friday.

The 47-year-old former footballer revealed last week that he was dealing with a medical issue and asked fans to pray for him and his family.

Moss made the announcement on Instagram. He asked the men to take blood tests without giving details of the illness afflicting him.

I’m fighting something, he said. It’s inside, I’ll get through it. I have a great team of doctors and my family by my side.

Moss played 14 seasons as a receiver for the Vikings you Minnesota, read Patriots of New England, the Tennessee Titans and the 49ers from San Francisco. He is ranked 2nd in the history of NFL with 156 passing touchdowns. He had 982 catches for 15,292 yards.

He was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2018.

Randy has been an invaluable member of the team, constantly elevating the show Countdown with his insight and passionESPN said in a statement. He has the full support of ESPN and we look forward to welcoming him back when he is ready.
