XV of France, the new controversy!

The French XV will provoke new anger in New Zealand by refusing to relocate a meeting of the 2025 summer tour to the United States.

Clearly, the XV of is not going to make friends in New Zealand. The FFR has made a decision which will further provoke anger and disappointment in the countries of the All Blacks: that of refusing to relocate one of the three test matches scheduled for next summer to the United States.

As a reminder, the French XV must play three matches in New Zealand in July 2025, but Fabien Galthié has already announced that the Top 14 finalists would be exempt from the trip. Certain “premium” players should also be preserved.

France-All Blacks in the USA, no!

For New Zealand, receiving a French XV without Antoine Dupont, Damian Penaud & Co is not at all the same thing in terms of attractiveness. And to obtain additional revenue, the New Zealand federation was considering moving one of the test matches to the USA, where a meeting against Fiji had been a hit in the past.

Unfortunately for them, it was a refusal on the French side. “ After discussions with our medical teams and our staff, we decided to answer no”assured the president of the FFR to L’Equipe.

“There would have been a double time difference, first to go to New Zealand then to go to the United States, justifies Florian Grill. And what's more, there is a change of season. We don't want to multiply the injuries. All three matches will take place in New Zealand. »
