Like his compatriot Noussair Mazraoui with Manchester United, Eliesse Ben Seghir was also named player of the month, with his club, AS Monaco where he is considered one of the best players. The Moroccan international who is shining this season is also being watched by FC Barcelona.

After being elected MVP of the month of August, Eliesse Ben Seghir also won the award of the month of November for his XXL performances.

The success of AS Monaco, “it is partly thanks to his number 7, starting with the success acquired in (1-3). While the Red and Whites were trailing with a quarter of an hour to go, the Academy midfielder took matters into his own hands by first obtaining a penalty which he was responsible for converting, then doubling the lead at the end of a marvel of collective action”, the club wrote in a press release.

Aged 19, Ben Seghir is a product of the AS Monaco training center, with whom he signed a professional contract until the summer of 2027. His current market value, according to Transfermarkt, is estimated at 18 million euros.

Ben Seghir stood out this season by scoring 5 goals and providing 3 assists in 16 appearances for Monaco.

Furthermore, his services have not escaped the notice of FC Barcelona showing a marked interest in the Moroccan international player Elias Ben Seghir, currently playing at AS Monaco, according to the Spanish media Viajes.

The report indicates that Barça are carefully monitoring Ben Seghir’s performances, delegating recruiters to assess his level and write detailed reports. The latter would have notably attended the meeting between Monaco and Benfica, played last week during the 5th day of the Champions League, in order to observe his style of play and his overall performances.

The Catalan club is considering a possible transfer of Ben Seghir, subject to the agreement of the Portuguese sporting director, Deco. Its mission is to identify promising young talents around the world and to propose them to coach Hansi Flick, with a view to future recruitment.
