Jerada Power Plant Achieves Annual Electricity Production Target 56 Days Ahead

As of midnight on November 6, 2024, the Jerada Power Plant had produced a total of 2.29 billion kilowatt hours of electricity this year, exceeding the annual target by 0.25% or 56 days ahead of schedule.

During the summer of 2024, in the midst of an unprecedented and prolonged heat wave, the need for a stable power supply in the project area was more critical than ever.

In response, POWERCHINA installed an air-cooling spray system, enabling the station to maintain full-load, high-back-pressure operation for an extended period and support the Moroccan power grid during peak demand periods. request.

Thanks to a series of support measures, POWERCHINA successfully carried out its operations to reduce summer consumption peaks and recorded no unplanned outages for 200 days, a record, thus guaranteeing a safe and stable summer electricity supply in the east of Morocco. This strong performance has been widely praised by the project owner and local government.

Since its commissioning, the power plant has been operating safely and stably, meeting its annual power generation target ahead of schedule for seven consecutive years and generating more than 17.8 billion kWh of electricity in total. In addition to providing continuous power supply to the Moroccan electricity grid, the plant, through its high efficiency and environmental benefits, contributes significantly to the country’s energy infrastructure, economic growth and environmental objectives.
