A week’s break and here we go again! The Pro D2 championship took a break, between the 2nd and 3rd blocks, and restarts this week with an enticing 12th day, with the Brive (3rd) – Montauban (2nd) clash opening this Thursday evening. And FC Grenoble will ensure the close, Friday evening at 9 p.m., by hosting Colomiers at the Stade des Alpes.

Trouilloud, back six months later
Despite a week of leave granted to its workforce, the Grenoble sports staff did not recover many injured people. Even if some residents of the infirmary have resumed training (Soury, B. Ezcurra, etc.), only one has earned the right to play again, but not just any: Romain Trouilloud, hit in the shoulder during the phases 2023-2024 finals (virus) and who will play his very first match of the current season, but as a substitute.
Otherwise, the starting XV lined up against the Columérins will look a lot like the one which started the match on November 15 against Soyaux/Angoulême, with ten starters renewed.
Four of the five changes relate to rotation at the position, with the tenures of left pillar Tommy Raynaud, right pillar Cody Thomas, scrum half Barnabé Couilloud and winger Wilfried Hulleu; which pushes Zack Gauthier, Giorgi Pertaia and Eric Escande to the bench, while the Fijian Kaminieli Rasaku.
The latest change is due to Richard Hardwick’s injury. The Namibian 3rd row suffered a cervical hernia against SAXV (37-7) and he is on the sidelines for at least two months. In his absence, and that of Pio Muarua (knee), Thibaut Martel will start at No. 8 while flanker Victor Guillaumond will have his third start of the season.
Javakhia returns to Red and Blue
At least the Pezery-Nadau duo was able to recover their three Georgian internationals, even if Mamaiashvili and Kveseladze are rested this weekend. “It’s a real problem, to the extent that it falls during a period with an accumulation of injuries,” indicates Patrick Pezery. “There is significant workforce management, even if it shows the quality of our reservoir. »
Thus, only Giorgi Javakhia returns, on the substitutes’ bench. After three weeks with the “Lelos” in the selection, the massive 2nd line will bring his volume of play and his physical power to the rank of finishers, who will also include the young Camille Baz-Marcos for the third time in a row.
Indeed, the South African Hanru Sirgel (ex-Griquas), expected to make his debut in Rouge et Bleu on this 3rd block, will have to wait one more week, according to the wishes of the staff.
