Olympique de Marseille are exploring the possibility of recruiting a young Argentinian international who plays in Italy.
OM has already completed the signing of Canadian Ismaël Kone. That of Brestois Lilian Brassier is also expected shortly. Then, it is possible that a recruit will arrive from Italy.
According to Foot Mercato, the Marseille club is working on recruiting Argentinian attacking midfielder Valentin Carboni (19 years old). The latter played last season at Monza, but he belongs to Inter. Currently, he is in the United States, where he is playing in the Copa America with the Albiceleste.
OM has not yet made an offer
Playing as an attacking midfielder, Carboni is described as a technically very comfortable player, capable of precise and powerful shots with his left foot. Comfortable with his head and physically solid despite his youth, these qualities combined with his finishing also allow him to play higher up, particularly as a second striker.
Contacts have already been made with Inter and also his agent. But there has not yet been a proposal sent. The player is valued at 15 million euros according to the website transfermarkt. But there is no doubt that the Nerazzurri will not give him up for such a sum.
As a reminder, a few months ago, Marseille had set its sights on another Albiceleste international, in the person of Thiago Almada. But, this interest never materialized into an offer. Will it be different for Valentin Carboni?
