From across the NHL: news from Brock Boeser and Yaroslav Askarov

Forward Brock Boeser will return to action on Tuesday when the Vancouver Canucks face the Boston Bruins.

Boeser took part in practice Monday wearing a contact jersey for the first time since his injury. On Tuesday, head coach Rick Tocchet confirmed that he will be in uniform against the Bruins.

“A guy like Brock wants to play every game. He played a lot of hockey for us over the years. It’s good to have a guy like that in the lineup. “, mentioned Tocchet on Tuesday.

Boeser was injured during the Canucks’ 4-2 win over the Los Angeles Kings on Nov. 7 when Kings forward Tanner Jeannot made an illegal hit to the American’s head.

The Canucks winger missed the last seven games with an upper-body injury and Jeannot was suspended three games for his action.

“It felt good to participate in a full training session with my teammates,” Boeser said Monday. I’ll see how the next few hours go, but I hope to be able to play on Tuesday.

Boeser scored six goals and had 11 points in 12 games before his injury. He also set career highs last season with 40 goals and 73 points in 81 games.

End of NHL stay for Askarov

The San Jose Sharks announced that they have traded goaltender Yaroslav Askarov to the American League.

This news comes the day after Askarov’s first victory in a Sharks uniform. He stopped 22 pucks in a crushing 7-2 victory for the Sharks at the expense of the Kings.

The 22-year-old netminder has been solid in two NHL starts. Askarov was 1-0-1 with a 1.96 goals-against average and a .927 save percentage.

The Sharks also recalled defender Jack Thompson.
