SCAN SPORT – Prop Steven Kitshoff, who had worn the colors of the UBB, spent more than six hours in the operating room.

On social networks, the photos are impressive. South African left prop Steven Kitshoff had been suffering from neck pain for months. The double world champion with the Springboks had to undergo surgery at the end of last week in his country.

The operation lasted more than six hours and the former UBB player (34 matches between 2015 and 2017) filmed himself leaving the hospital wearing a neck brace.

On his Instagram account, Steven Kitshoff published a reassuring message. “My operation was a great success! A big thank you to my incredible doctors and nurses for their extraordinary care (…) A long journey awaits me now but I am excited for the future.”

A long period of rehabilitation is expected for Steven Kitshoff (32 years old, 83 caps). And there is no guarantee that the current player from the province of Ulster (Ireland) will be able to put on his crampons again.
