A 28-year-old Arsenal supporter was banned from stadiums for three years on Tuesday, November 26, after uttering racist insults against Thomas Partey, Gunners midfielder, in April 2023. On X, the man in question reacted in a vehement and racist manner to a missed shot by the Ghanaian against Southampton (3-3).

He wanted to “transform negativity into humor”

Of Nigerian origin, the Arsenal supporter pleaded second degree as a means of self-defense against racism. He adds that this message supposed to caricature white supremacists was not intended to be found in the public square, but a private conversation. “I am not a racist person”said the defendant.
