It’s D-Day. This Tuesday, the Olympic flame is passing through Lille. LOSC President Olivier Létang is one of the many individuals who will have the chance to carry it through the streets of the capital of Flanders.

The Olympic flame will be in the North this Tuesday, July 2 to continue its journey across France. At the end of the afternoon, the torch will pass through the capital of Flanders, Lille, to conclude a day of festivities that began at 8 a.m. in Avesnes-sur-Helpe. It will then pass through Dunkirk (9:17 a.m.-10:20 a.m.), Cambrai (2:10 p.m.-2:30 p.m.), Tourcoing (2:50 p.m.-4:50 p.m.) and Douai (4:56 p.m.-5:36 p.m.). In the streets of the prefecture of the North, a well-known face of LOSC supporters will carry the flame in the person of Olivier Létang. The president of the Lille club will stroll with the torch to represent the sport of Hauts-de-France. He will set off from the Caisse d’Epargne, rue Nationale.

It will be possible to attend this event from 6:15 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. while the route will be preceded by a fanfare from 3 p.m. Several places will be suitable for observing the journey of the flame, such as the esplanade of the Champ de Mars where Dany Boon will light the cauldron. The flame will pass by the headquarters of the European Metropolis of Lille, the Pont de Flandres, the two train stations, rue Faidherbe, the Grand’Place, the Rue Nationale and the boulevard de la Liberté. For this Lille stage, in addition to the LOSC manager and the French actor, many local personalities will be there, such as Miss France and Raphaël Varane.
