Youcef Atal is getting closer to OM. The Algerian full-back is currently without a club, after a stint in Turkey. Discussions are going in the right direction between the former Nice player and the Marseille club.

Negotiations are progressing well between OM and Youcef Atal. The Algerian international is free, after a brief stint at Adana Demirspor in Turkey, and could therefore quickly join Marseille. There are still details to be sorted out but the discussions are going in the right direction.

Replacing Clauss?

After his eventful departure from OGC Nice, Youcef Atal is close to returning to Ligue 1. The player is interested in the sporting project. Marseille is taking the time to study the file to have all the necessary elements before signing him.

OM are looking to recruit smartly and the 28-year-old could bring experience to a position where Jonathan Clauss plays. Currently at Euro 2024 with the French team, the latter could potentially leave Marseille this summer if a good project presents itself to him. Even if the arrival of Roberto De Zerbi on the Marseille bench could “perhaps reshuffle the cards a little more”, according to his words at a press conference at the end of June.
