Deinze is on the brink. The disaster scenario seems to be increasingly looming.

Ce weekend, Deinze saved the furniture by playing their match well and truly against the Francs Borains, despite fears of forfeit. Having to deal with so much uncertainty is symptomatic of the extent of the problem. Tomorrow, the club faces a much more important deadline.

Because beyond the salaries of players and staff, other players are also demanding their money. Het Nieuwsblad reports that Lierse (for an unpaid bonus in the case of the transfer of Guillaume De Schryver), an external service provider as well as the former financial director summoned Deinze to be reimbursed, this represents a total of around 350 000 euros.

An inevitable verdict?

If the club cannot show that it is able to make these various payments, a liquidator must be appointed so that the various creditors are compensated. This would then be the beginning of the end.

Because in the event of liquidation, the team would probably no longer take action. A case which would then sadly recall the disappearance of Mouscron during the 2009/2010 season. As with the Excel, it would take three withdrawals to see Deinze completely removed from the competition.

The consequences would then be significant: all matches involving Deinze since the start of the season would no longer be taken into account in the ranking, with varying fortunes for the different opponents encountered so far. And that’s not all: there would also be one less descendant. The case is therefore being followed very closely, particularly at the bottom of the rankings.
