Eight riders have changed teams or arrived in MotoGP between the 2023 and 2024 seasons. The move to the 2025 season promises at least as many changes as five major transfers have already been announced.

They have their pilot duos

Three of the five factory teams have already secured their duos for the coming season. Ducati finally chose Marc Marquez to join Pecco Bagnaia in red, to the detriment of Jorge MartinThe Spaniard consoled himself by signing for Aprilia, which will completely change its duo since Marco Bezzecchi will arrive from VR46 to team up with the current championship leader.

Finally, on the KTM side, everything is tied up. Pedro Acosta will be promoted to the factory team alongside Brad Binderwheras’Enea Bastianini et Maverick Vinales will join Tech3, from Ducati and Aprilia.

They have a confirmed pilot

The latest announcement is the extension of’Alex Marquez at Gresini this Monday morning. The Spaniard will compete at least two more seasons with the Italian team until 2026. At his side, he will no longer have his brother Marc and a place remains to be filled on the second Ducati of the team founded by the late Fausto Gresini.

The French Johann Zarco et Fabio Quartararo have also sealed their fates. The former signed for two years when he joined LCR earlier this year, while the 2021 world champion recently extended his lease with Yamaha until 2026. The identity of their teammates remains unknown. At LCR, Takaaki Nakagami could lose his place to his Japanese compatriot Oh Ogura2nd in the Moto2 championship

Finally, at Honda Luca Marini is here to stay. Despite a very complicated start on the worst bike on the grid, the Italian signed up for several seasons. His teammate Joan Mir could leave the ship after years of hardship.

Everything remains to be decided

Three teams have not yet announced any riders: Trackhouse, Pramac and VR46. The first teams, equipped with Aprilia motorcycles, are currently entering Miguel Oliveira et Raul Fernandez whose future is uncertain.

At VR46, Marco Bezzecchi will go for Aprilia and Fabio Di Giannantonio, author of a good start to the season, should keep his place. However, he will need a teammate who could be Fermin AldeguerThe young Spanish rider reached an agreement with Ducati several weeks ago to be entered in MotoGP in 2025 and 2026. With the departure of Pramac from the Borgo Panigale brand, only two options remain for Aldeguer: VR46 and Gresini.

Pramac, Jorge Martin’s team, will join Yamaha from 2025. However, it will be without the Martinator, leaving for Aprilia, but perhaps with his teammate Franco Morbidelli who would return to the Japanese bike he rode until the end of last season. Gino Borsoi’s team could also turn to Moto2 prospects or try to attract a rider leaving another team (Jack Miller, Raul Fernandez, Miguel Oliveira…).
