Moto2 – Marc VDS seals new alliance with Boscoscuro

After a 13-year partnership with Kalex in the Moto2 World Championship, the Elf Marc VDS Racing team is launching a new challenge. From next season the team will be equipped with Boscoscuro chassis. The agreement with the Italian manufacturer has been set for a period of two years.

Team owner Marc van der Straten recently reached an agreement with Luca Boscoscuro, head of the manufacturer of the same name. Driven by the desire to embark on a new challenge, the three-time Moto2 champion team and the manufacturer will join forces in 2025 and 2026.

An announcement that marks the end of the long-standing partnership between Marc VDS and Kalex, who have been competing together in the intermediate category since 2012. In thirteen years, their association has allowed them to win the title in 2014, 2017 and 2019 during a period of success never before experienced by the team.

A record that has also contributed to enriching that of Kalex, who remains on a series of 11 consecutive titles. Together, Marc VDS and Kalex have more than 100 podiums.

A decision that the team owner justifies by the need for change. “I want to start by saying a big thank you to Kalex and all their incredibly professional staff who have been with us for thirteen years. It has been a long and great adventure that will remain forever in our memories as we have grown and won together. However, time brings new needs and new changes, and I have decided to start a new stage and a new challenge in Moto2 by switching to the Boscoscuro chassis.”

The Boscoscuro project appealed, and the idea of leading a long-term project together convinced Marc van der Straten. “There is no doubt that their performances have improved considerably in recent times, and currently they are leading the Drivers, Teams and Manufacturers championship, with only four bikes on the grid. I am sure our team can only help them make further progress while working hard to achieve positive results. »

“I am very happy and proud of this agreement because it represents an exciting new challenge for both parties. We are still in the early stages of the 2024 season with many battles to fight. And be sure that we will do our best” concludes the Belgian.

On the other hand, Luca Bososcuro is riding the wave and taking advantage of the current success of the chassis to welcome new customers. “It is a great pleasure for us to announce that a team like Marc VDS has chosen our bikes to compete in the 2025 and 2026 Moto2 World Championship seasons. We are ready to bring all our experience and professionalism to the track to achieve great results together.”

It remains to be seen whether this new partnership will allow Marc VDS Racing to regain color while their start to the 2024 season was tumultuous, to say the least. However, there are still 12 races left for the team of Tony Arbolino and Filip Salac with the Kalex chassis, and as many opportunities to conclude this partnership in style.
