Elydjah Mendy, 5th DFCO recruit!

July 1, 2024

The DFCO is pleased to formalize an agreement in principle concluded with central defender Elydjah Mendy, who wore the colors of FC Libourne (National 2). He will sign for two years (+ 1 year optional), subject to a conclusive medical examination.

DFCO continues to strengthen its defensive sector! Fifth summer recruit, Elydjah Mendy (24 years old) is a left-footed central defender, trained at Pau FC and revealed at FC Libourne. In Gironde, he had a full season in N3 with an accession to N2 at the key, then he again played the rise to National in 2023/2024.

His new trainer, Baptiste Ridira, was seduced by his profile: “He knows me because I played against him with Libourne, against Saint-Pryvé Saint-Hilaire, explains Elydjah. I had other proposals and the coach’s speech really convinced me. He talked to me about how he wanted his team to play. He loves playing football. This is what suits me. I like to dribble and help offensively. I’m not someone who clears big balls up front. »

A tough defender on the man, Elydjah Mendy (1m93, 88 kg) is a forward-thinking player who is skillful in front of goal, as evidenced by his 14 goals scored in the last two seasons.

The future number 4 of DFCO was trained at Pau FC, a club with which he discovered the National during two appearances at the age of 18. “Discovering the National at DFCO is a lot of excitement. I can’t wait to see how I progress. I hope to help the team and play as many matches as possible” explains this follower of the game advocated by William Saliba and Antonio Rüdiger.
