Dan Tangnes will leave Zug at the end of this season despite a contract valid until 2026. The 45-year-old Norwegian technician wants to join his family in Sweden. He has been in office since the summer of 2018.
“These seven years have been marked by many unforgettable experiences, successes and friendships. I am incredibly grateful”declares Dan Tangnes, quoted in the club press release. Under his leadership, Zug won a Swiss Cup in 2019, then two national titles in 2021 and 2022.
“But my family returned to Sweden two years ago and I want to be closer to my wife and my 14-year-old daughter. So I asked EVZ to terminate my contract at the end of this season”explains Dan Tangnes again. “We will take the time necessary to recruit the new head coach”underlines general manager Reto Kläy, who admits that the decision of Tangnes “surprised us”.
