Between Paris Saint-Germain and Randal Kolo Muani, it still hasn't worked. The 25-year-old French striker, who arrived for around 90 million euros in the summer of 2023, has never really made his mark within the capital club.
Kolo Muani: an inevitable departure from PSG
Luis Enrique no longer relies on him too much and prefers to evolve in a system without a real number 9 rather than using the former FC Nantes player, who nevertheless shines in the France team. A departure this winter from PSG has seemed inevitable for many weeks.
But at what price and in what form? The suspense was still complete and the confusion was total. But Le Parisien has just provided important clarification on this issue. According to their information, PSG is of course not closing the door to the departure of Randal Kolo Muani this winter.
PSG open to a loan without purchase option
The capital club would even be ready to lend its striker without a purchase option in January. The goal is for 'RKM' to regain starting status, regain confidence in the club, play a series of matches and, if possible, produce good performances so as to see his rating increase on the transfer market.
Because the latter has been in free fall in recent months. Valued at 80 million euros in June 2023, the Parisian striker is today valued at 40 million euros by Transfermarkt. PSG, which had opened the door to a departure in the form of a transfer, did not want to sell him at a price so far from his purchase price.
What destination for Randal Kolo Muani?
The loan solution without purchase option therefore seems to be the best option for all parties, but to what destination? Still according to Le Parisien, several European teams have taken information on the situation of Randal Kolo Muani and could try to revive him this winter.
Note that three Premier League clubs have been linked with the 25-year-old in recent weeks. However, there will be the question of salary coverage which will be on the table. According to the Capology website, the French international earns just over 12 million euros gross per year. A significant salary that few clubs could support, at least without help from PSG.
Passionate about sport and from Toulouse, I am of course a supporter of the great TFC, which has more titles than OM and OL combined over the last ten years.
