Complaint – For abusive breach of contract: Eric Chelle would consider claiming a billion from Fémafoot – Lequotidien

After being fired from his position as coach of the Eagles of Mali, Eric Chelle is reportedly considering contacting Fémafoot and claiming more than a billion CFA francs. This is the information reported by the media outlet Namakanna Tv.

For having been the scapegoat of the Fémafoot Executive Committee and the department in charge of Sport during the fiascos of the 3rd and 4th days of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers which led to the unilateral termination of his contract, the former coach national team of the Eagles, Eric Sékou Chelle, would intend to claim 1 billion 309 million CFA (2 million euros) from Fémafoot.
As a reminder, before being removed from his position as coach by the Executive Committee of Fémafoot, Eric Sekou Chelle totaled 14 victories, 4 draws and 3 defeats in 21 matches with the Eagles of Mali.
Even more serious, Eric Chelle would have learned of the decision concerning his dismissal through social networks, following telephone calls from those close to him.
A source close to the technician reveals to us that the former coach devoted most of his time to managing problems and administrative errors at Fémafoot.
To support his remarks, the same source revealed to us that Mali was going to lose on the green carpet against Ghana following a reservation made by the latter against the Eagles, due to a gross administrative error by the General Secretariat of Fémafoot, which had recorded 2 goalkeepers on the match sheet, instead of 3 in accordance with Fifa regulations.
Our source also tells us that coach Chelle had previously raised the same problem to the Secretary General of Fémafoot hours before the start of the match and that the latter, through ignorance of the texts, had affirmed the maintenance of 2 goalkeepers on the match sheet. And it was only after the Ghanaian team’s reserve, around fifteen minutes before the start of the match, that Eric Chelle was finally forced to remove a field player (Mamadou Fofana), replaced by goalkeeper N’Golo .
Once again, all this demonstrates the incompetence and mismanagement of the current Executive Committee of Fémafoot, under the leadership of Mamoutou Touré, especially since the latter illegally chose as Secretary General someone who does not master not the texts.
All this suggests a dark future for Malian football which has just suspended its captain and is still without a coach.
