“It’s always the same with him”: tensions between Leclerc and Sainz during the Las Vegas GP

Obviously, the atmosphere is not good at Ferrari. During the Las Vegas GP, Carlos Sainz and Charles Leclerc reportedly got angry with each other.

Winner of the Las Vegas Grand Prix, George Russell will certainly have fond memories of his race. This may not be the case for Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz, however.

While the Spaniard started in second position on the starting grid, he was overtaken by his teammate during the first corner. Shortly after, Sainz got back in front, while Leclerc encountered a problem with his tires.

However, during the 28th lap, Sainz in turn encountered a problem with his tires. And when he asks to return to the pits, the paddock replies: “We are not ready“, before asking him to let Leclerc pass, because he was faster.

Three days later, history will repeat itself. As Leclerc changed his tires and left the pit in front of Sainz, the latter rushed to catch up with his teammate, not failing to greatly annoy the latter. “He carrots me all the time! It’s not about being nice, it’s about being respectful. It’s always the same with him“, plague Charles Leclerc in his helmet.

After the race, he returned to this incident: “(…) It’s a shame for the drivers’ championship, however, because I’m battling with Norris for 2nd place. I understood that I only have to rely on myself from now on. I have to be better in qualifying and be perfect in the race to get it“.

For his part, Carlos Sainz preferred not to comment.
