On Friday, July 5, the Olympic flame will cross the Seine-Maritime. Parking, traffic, route, entertainment… We tell you everything.
The crossing begins with the city of a hundred bell towers: Rouen
The first stop is Rouen. The flame’s departure is scheduled for 8:19 a.m. at the Hôtel du Département, with an estimated arrival at 9:38 a.m. Place du Général-de-Gaulle, in front of the Hôtel de Ville. Times given are subject to adjustment.
Animations :
Opening of Rouen-sur-Mer from July 5 to August 4 (lower quays on the left bank, between the Jeanne-d’Arc and Guillaume-le-Conquérant bridges) and of the Fête du Fleuve from July 5 to 7, on the left bank and the right bank.
Traffic and parking:
From Tuesday 2nd July at 10am, all streets where the Olympic flame passes will be closed to parking. The City of Rouen is providing free parking spaces in the Saint-Sever shopping centre car park from Tuesday 2nd to Friday 5th July, for residents of the left bank whose address is located on the path of the flame.
Saint-Sever parking tickets can be collected until July 1 at the Info Point at the Saint-Sever Shopping Center, upon presentation of proof of address and an identity document, subject to availability.
On Friday, July 5, from 7:15 a.m. to 10 a.m., some streets in the city center will be closed or diverted. Public transportation will also be disrupted.
Passage through Jumièges in the Loops of the Norman Seine
Then, the flame’s route plans to pass through Jumièges. Departure is at 10:24 a.m. from Jumièges town hall. Arrival is scheduled for 10:44 a.m. at the Abbey.
Animations :
The Olympic village is held from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. within Jumièges Abbey.
Traffic and parking:
Parking prohibited in certain streets from Thursday July 4 at 6 p.m. Some roads closed from 7:30 a.m., Friday July 5. Back to normal at noon.
A free shuttle will run from the leisure center to the Abbey all day long. Parking is also available there. Others are planned for visitor parking:
- Grassy parking area for heavy goods vehicles, rue Alphonse-Callais;
- grassland at the entrance to Jumièges, road to Yainville;
- parking along the Georges-Boutard stadium, rue Mainberthe;
- village hall, allée du Chouquet.
Stopover at the seaside resort of Dieppe
In Dieppe, the departure is at 11:31 at the intersection of Avenue Gambetta and Avenue Boucher de Perthes. The arrival will be at 12:30 at the town hall.
Animations :
A sports village is organized from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on the seafront.
Parking in the usual car parks:
- Municipal technical center, quay of the Somme,
- Quai de la Marne (also for camper vans).
In temporary parking lots:
- At the Dieppe Hippodrome,
- at the Jean-Dasnias stadium,
- at the Émulation Dieppoise high school,
- at the Jean-Mérault stadium,
- parking bus au stade Jean-Dasnias,
- bus parking alley François-Mitterrand.
Escape to the former home of Pierre de Coubertin: Mirville
In Mirville, departure is scheduled for 12:54 p.m. at the intersection of the Route de Gare and the D72 departmental road. Arrival should be at 1:24 p.m. in the courtyard of the Château de Mirville.
Animations :
Entertainment is offered at Mirville Castle (restricted access). At the same time, a sports village is set up, from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., on municipal land.
Traffic and parking:
A temporary car park will be set up on the Route de Bréauté, on grassy ground, for cars only. Some roads will be closed to traffic between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.
Stop in the capital of the Pays de Caux: Yvetot
In Yvetot, the departure is at 3:16 p.m. at the Albert-Camus college, at the intersection of rue Retimare and rue de Lanarck. The arrival is scheduled for 3:54 p.m. at the town hall square.
Animations :
The Olympic village will be held at Place des Belges from noon to 8:15 p.m., among other events and concerts planned in the city center (Vieux Moulin hall parking lot, church parking lot, Town Hall square and parades) until 11 p.m.
Traffic and parking:
To ensure the smooth passage of the Olympic flame through Yvetot, certain parking restrictions will be put in place from Sunday June 30 at 8 p.m. to Monday July 8 at 6 p.m. (starting with Place des Belges). On the traffic side, certain streets will be closed to traffic from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and then gradually reopened until midnight/1:30 a.m. on Friday July 5.
Shuttles between the park and ride facilities and the various drop-off points will run from 9:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Friday, July 5. The shuttles’ departure points are: from the Lycée Agricole car park to rue Ferdinand-Lechevallier, from the Aérodrome car park to the road in front of the École Saint-Michel, from the Sainte-Marie-des-Champs car park.
Stroll along the Alabaster Coast: Étretat
In Étretat, the flame’s departure is scheduled for 4:14 p.m. at the Aval cliff, with an estimated arrival at 4:34 p.m. at the Place du Général-de-Gaulle parking lot.
Animations :
Friday July 5: opening of the entertainment village at Place du Général-de-Gaulle, at 4:45 p.m., followed by a music festival until 11 p.m. Saturday July 6: music festival and sports demonstrations from 2 to 1 hour.
Traffic and parking:
The first parking restrictions begin from 6 p.m. on Wednesday July 3 (place du Général-de-Gaulle). On the traffic side, the first filtering and traffic bans are put in place at 7 a.m., Friday July 5. From 1 p.m., all traffic will be prohibited in the city center.
Parking at the Grand Val car park, rue Guy-de-Maupassant, for buses and shuttles. Other car parks are planned: the Fréfossé car park, route du Havre; the Valaine car park, route du Havre; the Gare car park, Place de la Gare, in the city: around 60 spaces; Espace Maupassant, rue Guy-de-Maupassant: 36 camper van spaces.
Final stop in the Océane city: Le Havre
In Le Havre, departure is at 5:41 p.m. at square Claude-Érignac, boulevard de Strasbourg (in front of Narrow House). The estimated arrival is at 7:30 p.m. at the Nelson-Mandela esplanade.
Animations :
Four entertainment villages in the city (at the beach esplanade, at the Jacques-Chirac esplanade, at the Bassin du Commerce, on the esplanade of the Niemeyer library) from 2 p.m. and without interruption until 7:30 p.m. At 2 p.m.: departure of the festive parade from the City Hall. The celebration site is located at the foot of the Catène de Containers on the Nelson-Mandela esplanade, open to the public from the arrival of the parade, around 3:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m.
