For the first time in 11 years, the 85-year-old father will see his sons Jim and John face off — the first at the helm of the Chargers and the second at the helm of the visiting Ravens.

Clubs led by Jim and John will come into battle for a third time.

Manning lived it: his sons, quarterbacks Peyton and Eli, crossed swords on three occasions.

Peyton came out on top each time: with the Colts in 2006 and 2010, then with the Broncos in 2013.

“The first thing is you’re proud, because it’s quite unique. Secondly, it’s not particularly pleasant,” Archie Manning said.

“We were lucky it only happened three times. They could have been in the same section and played against each other 20 times. »

Jack Harbaugh did not grant any interviews this week. He already said, before Super Bowl 47, in 2013, that he appreciated having chatted with Manning before the first brotherly duel of its kind in 2011, a game where the 49 ers of Jim were visiting John’s Ravens.

Baltimore then won 16-6, before winning 34-31 in the aforementioned Super Bowl.

Present during the first two clashes between their boys, Jack and Jackie Harbaugh will not be in California on Monday.

They will be visiting their daughter Joanie in Bradenton, Florida, for Thanksgiving and their 63e wedding anniversary.

The Chargers have won their last four games, improving their record to 7-3.

The Ravens have lost their last two road games, where they are 3-3. Their overall record is 7-4.
