Hugo Lapalus and Flora Dolci both finished in the Top 10 at the end of the free individual in Beitostolen, as part of the Norwegian selections.

This Sunday brought the weekend of Norwegian selections to a close in Beitostolen. A week before the start of the World Cup in Ruka, these races served as a final rehearsal for the team. During the individual skating contested today and after his 5th place on Saturday, Hugo Lapalus took 6th place 47 seconds behind local Andreas Fjorden Ree. The Austrian Mika Vermeulen ranks 2nd and Martin Nyenget completes the podium (+13”1).

All the Blues were at the start of this 10 kilometer event. Mathis Desloges fails a few seconds from the Top 10 with a 12th place. Jules Lapierre finishes 20th, Remi Bourdin 42nd, Richard Jouve 51st, Lucas Chanavat 66th, Théo Schely 70th and Jules Chappaz is the last tricolor with his 88th place. Note that biathlete Johan-Olav Botn, known for his very good skiing times, took 13th place.

Dolci the only foreigner in the Top 10

During the women’s race, a Frenchwoman also slipped into the middle of the Norwegians. Flora Dolci took 8th place in the individual race, just over a minute behind Heidi Weng. 2nd place is taken by the returning Therese Johaug, only six tenths from victory. Astrid Slind ranks 3rd.

The ranking of the rest of the French women with the 23rd place of Delphine Claudel. Juliette Ducordeau finished 27th, Lena Quintin was 42nd, Maelle Veyre 23rd. The World Cup begins next Friday in Ruka with a classic individual.
