HIGHLIGHTS

Still a little faster than his opponents today, Kalle Rovanperä signs his sixth scratch and takes the lead this evening. Arriving only Tuesday evening in Poland, and without testing before the event, the Finn is so far impeccable and could bring very big points to Toyota!

Behind him, Andreas Mikkelsen has gradually lost ground and is more than nine seconds before the final day.

Without a spare wheel, Elfyn Evans finished the day in third place ahead of Adrien Fourmaux. Having started off on a false pace at the start of the special, Martins Sesks managed to match Thierry Neuville afterwards and saved his fifth place by just one tenth. The Belgian missed a great opportunity to score two more points (if no one gives up tomorrow).

In WRC2, Sami Pajari finished the day with a fourth fastest time and kept around twenty seconds ahead of his pursuers. Author of the last two scratches of the day, Oliver Solberg takes the upper hand over Robert Virves by only three seconds.

For his part, Pierre-Louis Loubet lost fourth place to the Irishman Josh McErlean.

In WRC3, the Pole Matulka is still in the lead but the Paraguayan Dominguez came back to just five seconds this evening. Once again 4th in this special, Mattéo Chatillon remains a solid fourth overall.

PILOT REACTIONS

T.Katsuta
10:56.6
It’s very difficult, there are a lot of ruts. It’s a good experience for me. I’m not very happy with my pace. I need to improve.
T.Neuville
10:49.5
The handling was good, but I missed a turn when braking and the surface was slippery. I lost a good second. Other than that, it was a good run, I had fun. The choice of tires was good. There is quite a bit of sweeping, especially when braking at intersections and exits.
G.Munster
10:51.4
It was pretty good, again we were laughing halfway through the stage saying it was crazy to do that. It was so much fun, we could do it again today. This time we made the right choice with the tyres. It was a bit on the edge. A bit disappointed with the first stage this morning to get into the rhythm with the interruptions, but other than that everything is good.
A.Fourmaux
10:51.5
I’m not sure it was the right choice of tyres at the end of the loop. It was a bit of a gamble but it didn’t work out. There are some good points from these two days. Tomorrow will be different, so I’m happy.
M.Sesks
10:51.8
I wasn’t happy with myself on the first part of the special. I made several small mistakes. The last part was pretty good. That’s all I can say !
K. Rovanperä
10:43.0
I tried to do my best throughout the day. The afternoon was more fun. Unfortunately, we weren’t fast enough at the start of the rally. The gap is still small this evening. I think tomorrow will be more complicated than today. We recceed one of the stages after the shakedown.
E.Evans
10:45.8
Without a spare tire on the rest of the loop, it wasn’t ideal. It was a good weekend so far.
A. Mikkelsen
10:47.2
We had a good stage, I tried. Maybe I pushed too hard, it wasn’t very effective. The tyre wear was less in the last two stages compared to the first. 2nd is good, but you always want to be one place above.
S. Pajari The driving was good, I had a good pace while being quite clean. I think the time will be good.
McErlean It was a good stage, and it’s good to be in the rhythm after going straight. It’s good to fight with guys like Loubet and Gryazin. Fighting with former Rally1 drivers is intense!
R.Virves Good to hear that (scratch), but Oliver is coming up behind us. I have a good feeling about yesterday. We signed a few scratches, that’s good.
Gryazin The feeling was very good in the special, but I’m not good enough. I take this opportunity to greet my mother.
PL.Loubet The special stages are demanding.
O. Soberg I tried to attack, but I can’t drive like this the whole rally!
T. Suninen We had fun in this special. We tried to push hard, but the times were not there once again.
