7 clubs sanctioned by the football financial policeman

It is a daily occurrence each season for all clubs in France. The DNCG receives all clubs from L1 to N3 to take stock of the financial health of each. During this interview, the clubs give an overview of the past season but especially the budget for the coming season.

After having carried out all the interviews as of June 29, several trends emerge and several clubs see themselves in great difficulty. Decisions that are not yet final since the clubs still have the possibility of appealing. An appeal that could for some reverse the decision initially taken by the French football policeman. Here is the assessment of the clubs of league 1, league 2 and national 1 for the 2024–2025 season.

DNCG decisions

Ligue 1

No restrictive measures: PSG, OM, OL, ASSE, Monaco, Reims, Nice, Lens, Brest, Rennes, Strasbourg, Angers, Lille, Auxerre, Montpellier, Toulouse.

Payroll management: FC Nantes and Le Havre.

Decisions that seem questionable, however, since all Ligue 1 clubs do not know the income generated by TV rights. It is therefore surprising to validate a budget in which the majority of clubs lack the main income…

Ligue 2

No restrictive measure: Rodez, Paris FC, Amiens, Guingamp, GF38, Lorient, Metz, Dunkirk, Caen, Bastia, Clermont, Laval, Red Star.

Payroll management: Annecy

Reprieve: Bordeaux, FC Martigues

Demoted to N1: AC Ajaccio

The relegation of Ajaccio could see ESTAC drop into Ligue 2, as was the case for Annecy following the relegation of Sochaux last season.

National 1

No restrictive measures: Le Mans, QRM, Nancy, Troyes, Valenciennes, Sochaux, Nîmes, Dijon

Payroll management: US Orléans, FBBP01, Paris Athletico, US Boulogne, Versailles, Marignane

Downgraded to N2: Châteauroux, Rouen, Niort, Aubagne

The 3 demotions and the ban on going up from Aubagne could allow Avranches, Villefranche, GOAL and Le Puy to be among the 18 in the N1 championship next season!
