ATP Ranking: Monfils climbs again

Having reached the last four in Mallorca, Gaël Monfils climbs to 33rd place in the new ATP ranking. No change to note this Monday, however, at the level of the Top 10, which remains unchanged compared to last week.

On the eve of Wimbledon, all the lights seem to be green for Gaël Monfils. At 37, the Parisian is finding a second youth and he deprived him of it again last week on the grass of Mallorca by reaching the last four. A performance that allows him despite his defeat in the semi-finals against the Chilean Tabilo (now 19th) to continue his rise in the hierarchy, with a jump of seven places this Monday that allows the former world number 6 to climb to 33rd place in the new ranking.

“La Monf” thus moves even closer to Adrian Mannarino (24th), especially since the latter, whom he will face on Monday in the 1st round in London, falls two places, like Ugo Humbert, still number 1 French and 16th in the world.

Fritz, return to the Top 10 in sight?

No change, however, regarding the Top 10. Jannik Sinner, who will try from Monday to add his name to the Wimbledon list for the first time (Editor’s note: He stopped in the semi-finals in 2023 and in the quarters the year before), maintains a very large lead (1,530 points) over his runner-up Novak Djokovic, beaten in the final of the last edition by Carlos Alcaraz, still 3rd this Monday.

Having won the Eastbourne title for the third time in his career, Taylor Fritz could soon be among the top ten players in the world again. The former world number 5 moved up one place on Monday and dislodged his compatriot Tommy Paul (13th) from 12th place.
