MotoGP Netherlands Assen J1, Marco Bezzecchi (Ducati/12): “I keep saying insults! »

Another tough day for Marco Bezzecchi at Assen. The Italian, who recently signed with Aprilia for 2025, still has to finish his season with VR46 Ducati aboard his GP23. Since the beginning of the year, he has struggled to find his form from last year, and this is confirmed in the Netherlands. In 2023, he was excellent, with a superb Sprint and an equally successful race. But now, he will have to go through a Q1 that promises to be tough after only finishing 12th in Practice. He can’t find the solution, makes little progress and is being left behind by his colleagues. Clearly, he is in the trough of the wave.

Status Quo for Marco Bezzecchi in Holland. While we thought he – half – had returned following his podium in Jerez, he was no longer able to transcend himself in the following rounds. It wasn’t much better this Friday, but at least he is ahead of his teammate Fabio Di Giannantonio. “I like this circuit but the problems are always the same. I have a lot of trouble on one lathe; this is the point we have been working on for a while now. Before, when things weren’t going well, I could be fast after putting on a new set of tires.
Now that’s no longer the case, and I only say insults when leaving the pits »
he confided to GPOne microphones.

Not easy to live with, especially after a 2023 season as grandiose as the one he had. « I have been struggling since the introduction of the new tires. My riding style is very rear-lean, and that’s even more important here. We have a day and a half of work left, so we’re not giving up.. »
he added.

Now he is in Q1, a mined territory.
« I’m confident but it won’t be easy, maybe even more so than Q2. We worked very late last night, I hope we understood the data and can find solutions. he specified. A situation that leads him to his next official role at Aprilia, to which he returns briefly. “I will be a factory rider, it will be very different. But their package is very good” concludes Marco Bezzecchi.

Do you think the Italian is capable of reaching Q2?
