The Wimbledon tournament draw is now known. The draw was made on Friday, June 28. Stanislas Wawrinka (ATP 93), Dominic Stricker (ATP 149) and Viktorija Golubic (WTA 67) now know who they will face in the first round.
In the draw game, it was the Bernese who seemed to have had the least luck. He will challenge the Frenchman Arthur Fils (ATP 34), for his first match. Stan Wawrinka has inherited an opponent who seems within his reach. He will be opposed to Charles Broom (ATP 245). The Briton obtained a Wild Card for this tournament. If the Vaudois wins his first match, he will play against the winner of the French duel Monfils/Mannarino, before possibly meeting the Bulgarian Grigor Dimitrov (ATP 10) in the 3rd round.
As for her, Viktorija Golubic will face Julie Niemeier, 90th player in the world. If all goes well for the Zurich player, she should meet Tunisian Ons Jabeur (WTA 10) in the 3rd round.
Novak Djokovic will be there
Doubts hung over the participation of the world number 2. Having undergone knee surgery three weeks ago, the Serb was not sure he would play in the London tournament. He will indeed be there and will face Vit Kopriva (ATP 123), who came through the qualifiers, in the first round.
Djokovic will be looking for an eighth title on the London grass. That would bring his record number of Grand Slam titles to 25.
