The Vaud State Council wants to invest 150 million in sports infrastructure

In response to the initiative “For an ambitious Vaudois sports policy!”, which aims to allocate 1% of the State budget (100 million) to Vaudois sport, Christelle Luisier presented the outlines of her counter-project this Thursday. A moment particularly awaited by sports circles, as the pressure on infrastructure is being felt. And the least we can say is that the PLR minister and her teams want to provide a strong and balanced response.

Of course, the 100 million that the initiators were demanding will not be reached, but what the State Council is proposing is a “very ambitious” project, according to the words of the president of the Vaud government. “Our objective is both to strengthen existing actions but also to develop new activities and improve the sporting conditions that are currently in force in the canton. We are also going to launch a certain number of additional studies, in particular to identify the infrastructures that are sorely lacking in certain regions.”
