“When retirement age arrived at 59, a neighbor suggested that I sign up for the Sports Retreat because she knew my passion for sport, remembers Yvon Ballart, almost 90 years old. So I joined in 1993, under the presidency of François Rigaud — I would have known four presidents — and stayed there until 2023 when I had to leave the association for health reasons. »
Very quickly, Yvon Ballart followed a training course as a gym leader, then tai chi in 2017 to supervise these two activities. “I was also a speaker for 16 years at the swimming pool for schools, of which I have excellent memories and some of whom I see again, having become parents, and for 12 years supervising young people at the Pléchâtel football club of which I was a member. . »
The recipient also took part in the ping-pong activity of the Sports Retreat. “ When I lived in Morbihan, I was treasurer of the shooting club for 20 years, commitment for which I received a youth and sports bronze medal. Besides sport, I was a volunteer at the Pléchâtel library from 1996 to 2023.” Yvon Ballart also participated in four Paris-Versailles marathons. Mayor Myriam Gohier presented him with the silver medal for youth, sports and community involvement on Saturday.
