It is an already bereaved family, which was once again affected by a tragedy, this Sunday, November 18, 2024. On a road in the Béziers hinterland, a mother died in a motorcycle accident, leaving behind her three children, marked four years earlier by the death of their father. Maëva, 24 years old, the eldest of the siblings, therefore finds herself responsible for her two brothers, aged 10 and 16.
A rugby player at ASBH, the young woman received immediate support from her club. One of her teammates, Camille Réginaud, created an online fundraiser to try to provide moral and financial support to her friend. “The goal is to help them meet their basic needs and offer them some comfort during this difficult time, explains the latter to France 3 Occitanie. In addition, I will also be calling for donations in several local stores to be able to offer them Christmas gifts. And s“There are people who want to participate by donating things rather than money, that’s entirely possible too.”
For now, the wave of support is there. The community of bikers, of which the mother was a part, like that of firefighters or rugby, two “families” that Maëva knows well, strongly participate in the outpouring of solidarity.
In addition to the prize pool, it is possible to make donations via the following email address: [email protected].
