It is the change that we didn’t see coming. To face Argentina on Friday November 22 at the Stade de France (9:10 p.m.), the back position of the French XV will be occupied by Parisian Léo Barré, and not by Romain Buros, who was part of the probable line-up on Tuesday.
The Bordeaux-Bègles fullback, who was capped for the first time against the All Blacks and scored his first try for the national team, had produced a good copy. He was supposed to continue against the Pumas, except that he is not 100%.
Romain Buros is out
“Romain is forfeited,” Fabien Galthié immediately decided to explain this choice. “It was planned on the match sheet, but he has not fully recovered from a crutch to a thigh.”
And the coach of the XV of France saluted Romain Buros: “He was so honest with us that after training on Tuesday, he told us that he was not 100%”.
With the agreements we have with the NRL, we are only allowed to keep 5 additional players, we couldn’t wait until Thursday and the captain’s training. A decision had to be made. In fact, it was Romain who took it. I want to salute his courage, his honesty on this decision.
Léo Barré, starting against Japan during the first match of the fall tour, is therefore back in the saddle. “He is ready,” assured Galthié.
