Unsurprisingly, Stroll (25 years old) will therefore continue to form a duo with Spanish veteran Fernando Alonso (42 years old), who extended his contract a few weeks ago, at least until the end of 2026.

“I am very happy to stay with the team for 2025 and beyond. It’s incredible to see where we’ve come over the past five years, we’ve grown a lot collectively and there’s still a lot to do, I can’t wait,” enthused the Montreal native.

The Quebecer, who has competed in 153 Grands Prix, has one pole position (Turkey 2020) and three podiums (Azerbaijan 2017, Italy 2020 and Sakhir 2020) under his belt.

“Lance has played a key role in building this team. His technical feedback, as well as his work in the simulator, contributed to the continued development of the car each season. The consistency and stability of having both Lance and Fernando remaining in the team provides an excellent basis to continue to achieve our ambitions,” highlighted Team Principal Mike Krack.

Stroll started in Formula 1 with Williams in 2017 at just 18 years, 4 months and 26 days, becoming the second youngest driver to start a Grand Prix in the premier category of motorsport after Dutchman Max Verstappen.

After two seasons at Williams, he joined Racing Point in 2019, the Silverstone-based team bought by his father and which was then renamed Aston Martin in 2021.

The Canadian billionaire, who made his fortune in fashion, has made very large investments to allow Aston Martin to get closer to the best teams, with the stated ambition of winning the world title in the near future.
