Manchester City. Pep Guardiola reportedly extends his contract for another year

According to our American colleagues from The Athletic, Pep Guardiola extended his contract for one season with Manchester City this Tuesday, November 19. The 53-year-old Spanish technician would now be linked with the Mancunian club until 2026.

Pep Guardiola would have extended with Manchester City. According to information from our American colleagues at The Athletic revealed this Tuesday, November 19, the 53-year-old Spanish technician would have extended his contract by one year with the Mancunian club, until 2026. Guardiola was at the end of his contract with the Skyblues at the end of the season.

The Athletic specifies that the announcement should be made official by the club in the coming days. A choice which would come as Manchester City remains on four defeats in a row in all competitions before this international break, the worst series of defeats under the Guardiola era.

The Catalan joined Manchester in the summer of 2016 after starting his coaching career at FC Barcelona (from 2008 to 2012) then at Bayern Munich (from 2013 to 2016).

In the space of eight seasons, he has notably won six English championships and the first Champions League in the club’s history, in 2023.
