If only the U15G, U17 G & U17F from the L’Aigle (Orne) handball club were traveling, Saturday started before 9:00 a.m. for the volunteers who worked until 9:00 p.m.
The U9 gathering was a real celebration of 4-player handball with 13 teams present.
The first under-9 grouping of the year took place at the intercommunal sports complex. For the occasion, five clubs were present (L’Aigle, Bellême, Mortagne, Sées and Alençon) with a total of no less than 13 teams entered.
For the management of the tournament and the teams, Cédric, Marithé and Tristan were in charge so that everything went smoothly for all the participants.
The baptism of fire
For many young people aged 6 to 8 years oldit was baptism of fire, most having only started in September.
The matches without a competitive objective took place on three fields with three level groups, thus allowing each player to develop in good conditions and to enjoy playing together.
Of course, much progress remains to be made, but overall it is promising. The young people showed enthusiasm and motivation on the pitch, which bodes well for the rest of the season.
Young referees
Young referees were also present in large numbers and they contributed greatly to the success of this first day, allowing the teams to play in good playing conditions.
Finally the tournament ended with a moment of conviviality, around a snack prepared by the parents and masterfully led by Ludivine, with all the teams.
The next meeting will take place on December 14 in Alençon with all the teams in the department.
Great beginners
The U11C Departmental Championship Pool C: L’Aigle (3) 5-33 Sées
For this team made up of great beginners or U9 players, the reception of Sées, undefeated leader of the group, was very complicated.
In this first phase of the championship intended to be mixed and not leveled… the Eaglet goalkeepers were constantly subjected to attacks from opposing attackers, the fault of too many intercepted passes leading to too many Red counter-attacks.
However, the little yellows did not get discouraged and managed to raise their level of play and their collective organization to score 5 goals by 4 different scorers (Malo, Maël, Antonin and Abdullah).
A big match
U13A Brassage Region Pool C: L’Aigle 31-21 Gournay
The Aiglons received Gournay (76)leader of the group after his convincing victory against Andelys at the start of the championship (31-17), and were expecting a big match.
They started the match on the floor, without stress or haste with an announcement of each start by their leader Mahé, on fire in attack with 15 goals.
The visitors responded in quick succession (4-4) but the Aiglons remained focused and returned to the locker room with a slight advantage of 4 goals (11-7) thanks to some high-class saves from Kerim who delighted the spectators.
The second act was even better controlled with a captain Chouchou who slipped into the spaces in attack and a Maël who closed the shop in a more than compact defense in front of an imperial Alexis in the cages for an 8-5 in favor of the yellows bringing the score to 19- 12.
The haggard Seino-maritimes
They knew how to leave Seino-maritimes haggard. There is no doubt that this team will find itself in excellence in the second phase but it will have to defend more to hope to exist.
On the Aiglon side, it was time for pride and coach Cédric did not shy away from his pleasure at having seen his team evolve at this level, and throughout the game, four corners of the fieldfrom wingers to full-backs to pivots and especially stratospheric goalkeepers with 40% and 38% success respectively.
U13B Departmental Championship L’Aigle 29-11 Mortagne
Receiving their neighbors from Mortagnecoming with a squad reduced by one player, the Aiglons started the match in diesel mode… with only one small goal in advance at the end of the first 15 minutes (7-6).
After a boost from the coach and much more applied playing principles, the locals managed, with equal numbers, to widen a significant gap at the end of the second half (19-8) with captain Jules in charge (11 goals) well supplemented by a Lucas in great form especially on the right of the back base (7 goals) i.e. a 12-2 passed to the defense of the blues.
The last act was of the same ilk with a logical 10-3. After a sluggish start, the Yellows produced a quality team gameboth in attack and defense with controlled alignments allowing numerous interceptions leading to easy goals when the ball rises.
No more adversity
U15 G Pre-region championship: Montivilliers 31-39 L’Aigle
The game presented more adversity.
In the first half everything was there: the rhythm, the speed, the alternation of passes and the play towards goal with a very good defense which put our opponents in difficulty.
The second half was still serious but it suffered a loss of rhythm effect. The boys knew how to hold their match, play to their strengths, have fun on the pitch. Nice victory 39/31 for this trip
U17 F Calvados Departmental Championship, L’Aigle 15-12 Entente Perche Écouves
U17 G Pre-region Championship, Lisieux – L’Aigle (29-28)
Seniors F Coupe de France Départementale, L’Aigle 26-23 Entente Verneuil /Conches
The senior women of L’Aigle received the agreement Verneuil Conches for the second round of the Coupe de France.
The two teams were neck and neck during the first period.
The eaglets, who were able to show good physical intensity, however failed to find defensive solutions.
The yellows returned to the locker room at half-time with a small goal behind (13-14).
The senior girls from L’Aigle, determined to win this confrontation, were able to demonstrate character at the start of the second half.
Through defensive support and support for rapid play, the locals were able to make the difference. The opponents then showed signs of fatigue, accentuated by the decisive saves of the Eaglet goalkeeper. The yellows ended up winning 26-23 against a great team from Verneuil Conches.
U11A Departmental Championship Pool A: L’Aigle1 21-14 Alençon 1
For this last match of the weekend, the Aiglons hosted their prefectural counterparts in a top-of-the-table match.
The locals started the game flat out taking the visitors by surprise, a little overwhelmed by their speed in attack and their defensive organization (8-4).
The second act was of the same content with a difference of 9 goals (18-9) due to a slight lack of involvement of the little yellows.
The high objectives of coach Cédric were not achieved in the last act won by two goals by the blacks, the fault of fatigue and a lack of application of instructions.
A good start
U11B: departmental championship of Pool B: L’Aigle Girls 10 – 24 Alençon 2
Orlane’s teammates met the Alençon reserve team with the objective of continuing to progress.
They started the game perfectly, matching the more seasoned visitors thanks to a well-organized defense in front of goalkeeper Margot who made many saves while Orlane (5) and Arthur (3) found the fault on the half-field defense (6 -7).
The second period was much more delicate, the locals systematically coming up against the layered defense (2-3) due to a lack of depth in the back base and play without the ball.
The bill quickly became steep with many easy goals from opposing ball runs following recoveries (7-18) making it 11-1 conceded.
The last period was more balanced but once again to the advantage of the Prefecturals (3-6) thanks to a more spread and layered attack and above all a less permeable defense with Arthur putting out some nice saves in the Aiglon cages.
The arbitration school
Who says home match, says young club referee and over this full weekend, the refereeing school was operating at full capacity.
Five pairs of JAJ (Young Youth Referees) refereed the U9 tournament on Saturday morning: Orlane & Isella, Maxence and Pierre LS, Jules & Malo, Maël & Edan, Mahé & Pierre B.
Two other U13 pairs officiated in the afternoon with Pierre & Maël on the U11C, then Alban & Mahé on the U13B, finishing with Franck G on the U13A knowing that our U15 & U17 teams were traveling.
Rebelote on Sunday where Florian D masterfully held the U11B meeting while Cyprien closed the ball with the U11A.
