Sunday November 24, 2024, the participants of the 38th edition of the Fort-de-France International Half-marathon will start on the seafront. Around twenty elite athletes have been invited to the event.
The 20 elite athletes invited to the 2024 Fort-de-France International Half Marathon come from 7 African countries, France, Ukraine and Saint Lucia.

Félicien Muhitira of Rwanda who won the 2023 edition with a time of 1:05:25, is back to defend his title.
The Moroccan Mohamed Boutmazguine also returns with one objective, to improve his second place. In 2023, he posted a time of 1:05:46.
Mykola Mevsha from Ukraine who finished in 3rde place in 2023 with a time of 1:06:16, will also be on the starting line.
Among the women, in 2023, Maryna Nemchenko of Ukraine crossed the finish line on the Fort-de-France seafront with a time of 1:16:07.
At the start, she will meet Cecilia Mobuchon, an athlete with a mind of steel, who finished in 2e place in 1:16:31. Cecilia Mobuchon is the winner of the 2022 edition.
Before the race on Sunday, November 24, the invited athletes will visit 6 schools in Fort-de-France to interact with the students.
More than 1,400 people have already registered in one of the 3 categories of the event.
The majority of participants, around 800 sports fans, will take part in the Jou Ouvé, a 5k race, starting at 5:20 a.m.
The 630 people already confirmed for the International Half Marathon, a 21k 240m course, will start at 6 a.m., followed at 6:03 a.m. by the participants of the Mixed Relay.
