Mr. Hammouchi and his German interlocutors also reviewed the results of cooperation between the two countries in the police field, as well as all the security challenges that arise at the regional and international levels.

The Director General of the DGSN-DGST and the delegation accompanying him paid a visit to the German Joint Counterterrorism Center in Berlin, during which they were informed of the working mechanisms of this structure in terms of coordination between the different German security apparatuses, and prospects for cooperation with the Moroccan security services in the fight against the risks of the terrorist threat in its cross-border dimension.

The program of this visit also included the examination of opportunities for cooperation between Morocco and Germany in the field of sports security and mechanisms for the exchange of expertise and technical assistance between the two parties for the security of major events, the press release added.

On this occasion, Mr. Hammouchi learned about the security measures and security and protection standards adopted by the Berlin police to secure the UEFA Cup, currently organized by the Federal Republic of Germany.

In order to strengthen cooperation in this area, a high-level Moroccan security delegation, led by Mr. Hammouchi, made a field visit with the president of the BKA to the installations and equipment of the Olympic stadium in Berlin, which hosts matches of the Euro 2024, as well as the Police Operations Management Center, which oversees security and safety protocols during this football event, according to the same source.

This visit aimed at learning about German experience in organizing and securing major events is part of the advanced preparations carried out by the Moroccan security services in anticipation of hosting by the Kingdom of Morocco of global and continental sporting and security events, starting with the 93rd session of the Interpol General Assembly, scheduled for next year in Marrakech, then the 2025 African Cup of Nations and finally the 2030 World Cup, which will be organized jointly with Spain and Portugal.

This official visit demonstrates the importance of bilateral security cooperation between the Kingdom of Morocco and the Federal Republic of Germany, taking into account the numerous security areas of common interest, and reflects the resolute commitment of the DGSN and the DGST in international efforts aimed at neutralizing the risks and threats weighing on the regional and international security of the two countries, concludes the press release.
