A house belonging to Gerard Piqué located in Cerdanya (Spain) was vandalized by young anti-capitalist activists from the Arran group, reports the Spanish media As . In a video shared on social networks on Sunday November 17, 2024, the activists show how they managed to break into the Catalan property of the former Barça player. In particular, we can see a hooded man tagging the facades of a «Fora posh».
This expression can be translated as an attack on the bourgeois or the wealthy classes. The Arran group, affiliated with the Candidatura d’Unitat Popular (CUP), wishes to denounce the housing crisis in a region popular with tourists and multiple owners. Cerdagne, shared between Spain and France, is part of the Pyrenees massif and attracts many skiers and hikers.

Fight against “crooks, profiteers and speculators”
“Are you tired of having to go live abroad and not being able to afford decent accommodation in Cerdanya? »asks Arran in his video. “While we have to leave Cerdanya because we cannot pay the rent, 64% of housing is second homes or more. […] The posh people of Barcelona who come to have fun on the ski slopes and golf courses have nothing to do in our territory”continue the activists.
The latter get annoyed by believing that housing like that of Gerard Piqué is not occupied “on average only 14 days per year”. Arran wants to fight against “the crooks, the profiteers and the speculators”which would therefore include the former defender of the Spanish selection.
