Le Morgien, already a multiple reigning Swiss champion, broke the national record in the 100m breaststroke. And qualifies for the world championships in Budapest.
Louis Droupy shone brightly this weekend in Oberkirch (LU). At the Swiss short course championships, Morgien not only won gold in the 100m breaststroke, but in the process improved the Swiss record to 58.27! Or 34 hundredths less than the previous mark.
A time which also allows him to qualify for the elite world championships which will be held in mid-December in Budapest (Hungary).
The athlete trained at Morges Natation, who recently competed under the banner of Lausanne Aquatique, also won gold in the 200m, again in the breaststroke. While in the 50m breaststroke, he had to settle for second place. In this final, he ranked just behind Etierruz Maël Allegrini, his club teammate.
Allegrini four times on the podium
Speaking of Maël Allegrini, he was not left out. In addition to his victory in the 50m breaststroke, the young swimmer obtained bronze in the 50m freestyle and silver in the 100m medley, behind a certain… Noè Ponti. As for the 100m, he was also second, behind Louis Droupy, therefore.
Morges Natation had sent a delegation of around thirty athletes to the Lucerne pools. Despite honorable performances, no medal could be brought home.
